id Software’s annual fan gathering, QuakeCon, is happening this weekend in Texas, where thousands of Quake and Doom fans have gathered to frag each other. And while the name of the con was born from Quake, this year’s event is really all about Doom.
On Friday, July 26, id Software and publisher Bethesda Softworks will reveal more about the next game in the Doom franchise: Doom Eternal. The QuakeCon keynote presentation will kick off at 11 a.m. CT/12 p.m. ET, and promises a new look at Doom Eternal’s multiplayer mode, Battlemode. id initially revealed Battlemode, a two-versus-one (two demons against one Doom Slayer) multiplayer mode, at E3 2019.
You can watch the QuakeCon 2019 opening keynote here, streamed live via YouTube.
After the keynote, developers from id and Bethesda will revisit the past 25 years of Doom. The roundtable will include id creative director Hugo Martin, MachineGames executive producer Jerk Gustafsson, Bethesda senior VP of development Todd Vaughn, Bethesda Game Studios studio co-director Tom Mustain, and id senior producer Kevin Cloud.
