DCS F-16C, the spiritual successor to the legendary Falcon flight sim, gets a new trailer

Inside this cockpit, there is no doubt the F-16 was built to be an air superiority fighter

It’s Friday, and I’m actively considering making the long trip up to Oshkosh, Wisconsin to the EAA AirVenture Air Show, better known as the Oshkosh Air Show. It’s one of the largest in the world, and has already seen some excitement this week, including a brake fire on a C-5M Super Galaxy. Ironic, then, that the team at Eagle Dynamics dropped a new trailer for DCS: F-16C Viper, the latest module for its DCS World vehicle simulation platform.

Honestly, I think the game looks nearly as good as real life at this point. And learning to fly the thing is probably a lot easier than standing next to the blazing hot tarmac on the other side of the Cheddar Curtain. Unfortunately, the module itself won’t be out until September.

The team at Eagle Dynamics made headlines recently when one of its employees was extradited and jailed in Utah. His alleged crime? Trying to acquire F-16 A/B Defense Fighter manuals off eBay. An Eagle representative said at the time that they didn’t try to cut the deal on company time, and moreover, they weren’t even involved in making the F-16 module.
