Disney Plus’ The Mandalorian trailer shows a new side of the Star Wars universe

The first live-action Star Wars TV series will launch with the Disney streaming service

The first trailer for the highly-anticipated live-action Star Wars show The Mandalorian is finally here. Previously, Disney shared footage at Star Wars Celebration.

The Mandalorian will stream exclusively on Disney’s upcoming streaming service Disney Plus. It will be the first live-action Star Wars television show and reportedly has a massive shooting budget of $15 million per episode.

The series takes place in the time after the fall of the Empire and before the rise of the First Order, and focuses on the titular Mandalorian, a lone gunslinger played by Game of Thrones’ Pedro Pascal. He will be joined by Gina Carano’s Kara Dune, a former Rebel shock trooper who’s a bit of a loner, and Carl Weathers’ Greef Marga, the head of a guild of bounty hunters.

The Mandalorian will be available on Disney Plus when it launches on Nov. 12. It will be the first of several upcoming Star Wars serieses, which include a Cassian Andor spinoff and reportedly a series focusing on Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Disney revealed the first poster for the series earlier, showing off the lone gunslinger against a very Wild West- looking sunset.
