The Breaking Bad movie teaser buckles you up for a fall Netflix release

El Camino focuses on Jesse’s past and future

“Felina,” the final episode of AMC’s Breaking Bad, gave Walter White a definitive ending ... arguably at the sacrifice of Jesse’s story. Ain’t that always the case with the One Who Knocks.

Luckily, later this fall, creator Vince Gilligan will give Jesse his due in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, a thriller that picks up immediately following the series finale. The film will premiere exclusively on Netflix, where both Breaking Bad and Gilligan’s spinoff Better Call Saul have drawn major crowds.

In Breaking Bad’s final moments, Walter busted his former student out of a neo-Nazi drug den, where he’d been working in chains as their prisoner. And that was that — Jesse drove off into the sunset. El Camino, according to Netflix, will answer some major questions. “In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.”

El Camino is written and directed once again by Vince Gilligan. No other cast is confirmed outside of Aaron Paul as Jesse, but the first teaser for the film finds an old friend back in the hot seat, asking the big questions about Jesse’s fate.

If you can’t believe the Breaking Bad movie is actually a thing, do this math: El Camino arrives on Netflix on Oct. 11. Yeah, science!
