DC Universe’s Titans gets high-stakes season 2 trailer

DC’s biggest teen team is back

The Teen Titans are back for season 2 of DC Universe’s Titans.

While Titans may just seem like a dark and edgy live-action reboot of the Teen Titans, the first season gave us a surprisingly heartfelt rendition of the teen heroes. Sure, Robin said “Fuck Batman,” among other things, but the cast had great chemistry and found moments of connection and humor between the gritty action. Brenton Thwaites starred as Robin, with Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, and Ryan Potter as Beast Boy.

Titans finished off its first season with a doozy of a cliffhanger: Not only did our heroes fail to save Rachel from the clutches of her father, the demon lord Trigon, the whole team was trapped in a nightmare of darkness — one where Dick Grayson killed his adoptive father, Batman. Since season 2 is happening, we can probably count on the Titans getting out of that trap and linking up with some new allies.

From a tease at the end of season one, we know that Conner Kent, Superboy, is confirmed. Additionally, casting announcements for season 2 have included Esai Morales (La Bamba) in the role of Slade Wilson, the Titans’ arch-nemesis; and newcomer Chella Man in the role of Wilson’s superhero son, Jericho. Iain Glen (Game of Thrones) has also been cast in the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Titans returns on Sept. 6.
