Apple announces a new, exclusive Frogger from indie darling Q-Games

There’s a baby with sunglasses, which is a good enough reason to have a new Frogger

Frogger in Toy Town, a brand new Frogger game, is coming exclusively to Apple Arcade, Apple announced during its September Special Event.

Frogger in Toy Town is being developed by cult-indie studio Q-Games, the developer behind the PixelJunk series. The game looks about how you’d expect a Frogger game to look in 2019. It’s got bright colors and logs that float by to help you cross dangerous streams.

But it seems that Q Games has a few updates to the classic formula on the way. If you collect 100 of the game’s collectibles you’ll gain a power up that seems to make you invincible, like a star in Super Mario Bros. but with a frog. The trailer also has a giant baby that wears sunglasses.

Frogger in Toy Town is set to launch along with Apple Arcade on Sept. 19. Apple Arcade games will be playable on most Apple devices iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple TVs. The service will offer players access to every game on the platform for $4.99 per month for a family subscription.
