Fast on the heels of the launch of Apple Arcade, Amazon is jumping into mobile gaming with a free content promotion through its Prime membership.

Much like the free in-game content offered via Twitch Prime, Amazon will dole out in-game rewards “on an ongoing basis.” First up is a set of swag for PUBG Mobile, a free-to-play title. Prime subscribers will get the Infiltrator set of clothing — mask, jacket, shoes and pants — plus a weapon (Blood Oath-Karabiner 98K) and the Black Magma Parachute.

“Upcoming offers will include content from other top mobile game publishers,” Amazon said in a statement yesterday. The statement didn’t specify how frequently new mobile game loot would roll out; Twitch Prime usually does it once or twice a month.

Amazon-owned Twitch started offering game premiums when it rolled out Twitch Prime in the fall of 2016, which comes with an annual Amazon Prime subscription. The tie-ins are typically timely and linked to big-name games. A crossover with EA Sports delivered a very powerful Jim Brown for Madden NFL 20 Ultimate Team players back in August. Earlier this year, Nintendo doled out a year of free Nintendo Switch Online service for users.

Apple Arcade launched on Thursday, but so far it’s only for those with iPhones. iPad support is coming on Sept. 30. The $4.99 service is promising a library of more than 100 new games, some exclusive, this fall.
