Square Enix is sticking with tradition when it comes to the Final Fantasy 7 remake’s box art. The publisher revealed the Final Fantasy 7 Remake packaging art on Tuesday, which will no doubt inspire pangs of nostalgia in players.
Here’s a full look at Cloud facing down Shinra headquarters in the city of Midgar, just as he did in the 1997 original for PlayStation:

While Square Enix’s announcement specifies that Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be the “first game in the project” and “a fully standalone gaming experience that provides a great starting point to the series,” the box art itself appears to make no mention that this is part one of a multi-game remake. We’ve asked Square Enix how it plans to note this on the game’s packaging.
In addition to the box art reveal, Square Enix also released a fresh batch of screenshots from Final Fantasy 7 Remake and direct-feed gameplay video that debuted at Tokyo Game Show 2019. That new footage, above, shows Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa battling the giant monster Abzu.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be released for PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.
