Sony’s State of Play news junket opened up today with a showcase of an intriguing game that focuses on rendering tons of characters at once. Aptly named Humanity, the title is being developed by the studio known as Enhance Games — you might know them as the devs who made Tetris Effect and Rez Infinite — in conjunction with tha ltd.
The point of the game seems to be managing large groups through obstacles and extraordinary scenarios. A press release states that Humanity will use “massive crowds of individual people of all kinds, as they work together and fight against each other in various ways.” Everything else about this PlayStation 4 game, which will have optional PlayStation VR support, is being kept mum until next year.
“Humanity is the evolution of a concept that founder Yugo Nakamura began developing three years ago at his company, tha ltd., a studio revered for their work with giant brands such as Uniqlo, Muji, and the legendary Japanese musician Cornelius,” the press release said.
