Cyberpunk 2077, the latest game from Witcher developer CD Projeckt Red, already looks like it will have a massive single-player campaign, but we can expect more ways to play in the future. CD Projeckt Red has announced, via tweet, that multiplayer is already in the works for Cyberpunk.
1/2 Until now, the only thing we said about multi was that it was in R&D. As we’re getting closer to launching ‘single player’ Cyberpunk 2077 in Apr. 2020, we’d like to confirm that multiplayer's in the works! The tweet let fans know that the developer is working on adding multiplayer to the game, but that it doesn’t plan to have the feature by launch.
“The plan for now is to deliver Cyberpunk 2077 in April, then follow up with DLCs (free!) and single player content, and — once we’re done — invite you for some multiplayer action,” the second tweet explained. There was also a link for developers to apply if they’d like to work on the multiplayer portion of the game.
The developer has otherwise largely been quiet about the future, not just of Cyberpunk 2077, but of the whole franchise. But multiplayer is coming, even if we don’t know exactly when it will be ready for release.
