The Blood Angels are ready for battle

A new teaser trailer for Angels of Death, the officially-licensed Warhammer 40,000 animated series, has arrived. The trailer was debuted at the Las Vegas Open gaming convention as part of a whole host of Games Workshop announcements.

Not much is known about the plot of Angels of Death, other than it will center on the Blood Angels Space Marines. Also shown in this clip is a female fleet commander, and someone who looks very much like a member of the Genestealer cults. Expect the series to include plenty of space combat.

Angels of Death is being created by the same team that made the Helsreach fan film. The series is being written by members of the Warhammer StoryForge, a team of writers who have previously worked on the series’ Black Library novels.

The animated series isn’t the only new Warhammer series in the works. There’s also a live-action series coming from the team behind Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle series. The program will be called Eisenhorn and will follow the plot of the Dan Abnett trilogy by the same name. Eisenhorn was announced in the summer of 2019, and is currently in development.

When Angels of Death was originally announced, back in December of 2018, it came with a 2019 release date, however it seems that it got pushed back at least a few months. This latest trailer for Angels of Death doesn’t have a specific release date but does say the series is set to come out sometime in 2020.
