It’s been a big year for Rockstar’s two online game modes, Red Dead Online and Grand Theft Auto Online. Red Dead Online launched as a beta in 2018, and received substantial updates throughout 2019. Meanwhile, Grand Theft Auto Online is into its seventh year, and Rockstar claims in a news post that the mode broke records for daily, weekly, and monthly average users over the summer.
Rockstar are celebrating this success by handing out in-game bonuses to those who log in during specific times.
GTA Online players can earn GTA$1,000,000 by logging into the mode between Jan. 30 and Feb. 5. Another million bucks will be available for fans who log in between Feb. 6 and Feb. 12. Two million in-game dollars is a pretty hefty bonus that can allow folks to unlock access to end-game content (including a low-end casino penthouse).
Red Dead Online is offering a similar deal. Players who log in between Jan. 28 and Feb. 3 will receive a free Schofield Revolver, free Varmint Rifle, and an ammo bundle full of high-powered explosive and high velocity rounds.
Rockstar will also offer a second bonus for Red Dead Online. On Feb. 4 and Feb. 10, wannabe cowboys can get a free Bounty Hunter License, along with 25 bolas and tracking arrows. Bounty Hunting usually costs 15 gold to unlock, so this is a great opportunity for those to get into the profession for free. Bounty Hunting is currently the most fleshed out of the specialist roles, and it’s a good chance for new players to give the profession a spin.
