Possibly evil Nick Offerman questions the very nature of life itself in first Devs trailer

From the director of Annihilation comes a mind bending new series

From the director behind Annihilation comes a sci-fi miniseries exploring a mysterious software development company and the secrets it knows about the very nature of human existence.

Devs follows a software engineer named Lily investigating her boyfriend’s disappearance, suspecting foul play and possible murder. As she dives deeper into software development company Amaya, she begins to uncover some world-shattering secrets.

“The sense that you were participating in life,” says the gruff-voiced CEO of Amaya (as played by gruff-voiced Nick Offerman) in the trailer. “It was only ever an illusion.” He’s probably the bad guy, right?

In addition to Nick Offerman as Forest, Sonoya Mizuno (Ex Machina) stars as Lily, with Jin Ha (Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert) as Lily’s boyfriend Jamie, and Zach Grenier (Fight Club) as Amaya’s head of security. Stephen McKinley Henderson, Cailee Spaeny, and Alison Pill appear in other roles.

Devs premieres March 5 for FX on Hulu.
