Ubisoft’s futuristic battle royale Hyper Scape is beginning season 2 on Oct. 6. This update is called The Aftermath, and it is meant to improve on the base experience while adding some quality of life features, new modes, and more.

There’s a new ranking system that will allow players to ascend from Bronze through to Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Champion in the game’s standard battle royale squad mode. A solo queue will also be included in this season, with a modifier called “second chance,” so players who die once aren’t necessarily out of the running. There’s also a new district, a new sticky bomb shooting gun, and a hack that allows players to make platforms for extra maneuverability.

This follows in the wake of a post on the Ubisoft website by the developer, which read, in part, “While July’s launch and Open Beta on PC were successful, we were not able to achieve the high expectations we set for ourselves with our full release on console that followed in August. We also know we didn’t fully meet the high expectations of our players, so we are taking action.”

There will be more updates to come, and the developer intends to prioritize cross-play to allow the player base to compete across consoles and PC together.
