Deerling and Shiny Vulpix join Pokémon Go for fall

Other autumn-related Pokémon will be spawning, too

Pokémon Go is getting a fall-themed event now that things are cooling down, as announced by Niantic on Thursday.

From Oct. 9 until Oct. 12, berries will be more powerful. Any berries you feed to your buddy will be twice as effective, and using Pinap Berries on wild Pokémon will reward even more candy than usual. Pokémon like Oddish, Vulpix, Bayleef, Pineco, and other autumn-like Pokémon will also be spawning in the wild more frequently.

The star of this event will be the addition of Deerling, the adorable seasonal deer Pokémon. Deerling has a different appearance depending on the season, so while we’ll get Autumn Form Deerling now, we can expect its other forms to debut in later seasons. Kantonian Vulpix will also be appearing Shiny for the first time.

Niantic also noted in the announcement that “there will be a few different Pokémon hatching from Eggs soon” from Oct. 12 until Oct. 19, but no further details on what this means have been given.
