How to visit Joe Biden’s Animal Crossing island

Plenty of photo ops with the candidate’s avatar

Animal Crossing: New Horizons players can check out Vice President Joe Biden’s campaign stop on their turf right now. The Dream Code DA-7286-5710-7478 takes players to the “Biden HQ” island, and the Kinda Funny Games Twitch channel is streaming a tour of the place at this moment.

Biden HQ follows earlier Animal Crossing forays that included yard signs and in-world merch for the 2020 Democratic nominee for president. More virtual items are being offered here, including beanies, caps, hoodies, and T-shirts with Biden-Harris campaign branding.

But players should also check out the multilevel campaign field office, with rooms for both Biden and vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris filled with their personal effects. The first-floor phone bank prompts players to send a text message, with another piece of Animal Crossing merch dangled as encouragement.

There’s also a polling location on the island that directs players to the voting information website I Will Vote, which is run by the Democratic National Committee. That site contains details on voting registration, voting by mail, and polling locations for a user’s ZIP code. Election Day is on Nov. 3, less than three weeks away, and early voting has already begun in a number of states.

A statement from the Biden-Harris campaign Friday afternoon noted that “rope line selfies are on pause with social distancing” in the real world, but that “there still great photo opportunities throughout the island.” Biden’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons avatar is strolling about; he’s the gray-haired guy wearing a blazer and aviator sunglasses saying, “No malarkey.”
