John Rambo is coming to Mortal Kombat 11. Sylvester Stallone’s action hero will join the roster of NetherRealm Studios’ fighting game on Nov. 17 as part of the game’s second Kombat Pack, and Rambo’s bringing all the Rambo combat techniques you know and love with him.
That means Rambo’s big survival knife is here. So is his bow and (exploding) arrow. And Rambo has apparently filled Mortal Kombat 11’s fighting arenas with all manner of deadly traps, including one that’s part of his Fatality. In Rambo’s first gameplay footage, we see the next MK11 guest character just stabbing the bejeezus out of Kabal, Erron Black, and The Terminator T-800, while wearing outfits inspired by his appearances in First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part 2, and Rambo 3.
Then Rambo just, like, rips Erron Black’s throat clean out, just like he did to that one guy in 2008’s ultraviolent Rambo. It’s pretty gross!
Rambo will join new additions Mileena and Rain in Kombat Pack 2. The add-on drops the same day as Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate, an all-in-one package including the original game, both Kombat Packs, and the Aftermath expansion, which will be on Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Mortal Kombat 11 owners will be able to upgrade to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X versions for free if they own the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version, respectively.
