Apex Legends launches on Steam on Nov. 4. Respawn Entertainment’s popular free-to-play shooter is the latest big Electronic Arts title to be available at Steam, as the publisher’s détente with the PC marketplace continues its thaw.

The official launch date is the same day Apex Legends’ Season 7 begins. Today’s announcement said those who have been playing on Origin now “can easily switch back and forth with Steam,” meaning progression and item unlocks are shared by both platforms.

Steam players will get three free gun charm cosmetics, based on Valve’s Portal and Half-Life series. They include GLaDOS as a potato, Octane as a headcrab victim, and a twee Wattson with companion cube.

One year ago, EA started bringing new games back to Valve’s storefront, after nearly a decade of being exclusive to EA’s competing Origin service. More than two dozen games from the publisher’s back catalog were added over the summer, and then at the end of August, EA brought its Origin Access subscription service to the platform, too.

Origin Access has since been rebranded as EA Play, and the client will soon be known as EA Desktop, taking the Origin name completely off the books. The service launched as Origin in June 2011.
