Blizzard’s next expansion for World of Warcraft is Shadowlands, a new journey that takes players to the realms of the dead to investigate why the machinery of souls is broken. The game was originally intended for an October release, but was delayed. The new date is now Nov. 23, at 3 p.m. PST/Nov. 24 at 12 a.m. CET.

The developers did release a pre-patch though, which allowed players to re-customize their characters with new options, and experience the Chromie Time leveling system. Now, we get to wait for the new Shadowlands zones and content.

According to John Hight, executive producer of World of Warcraft, the expansion will be further polished and completed before its release date. The pre-launch event, the Scourge Invasions, will launch on Nov. 10. That gives players about two weeks to fight off hordes of undead monsters on Azeroth, as well as get the plot leading up to Shadowlands proper.

After the game’s launch, the first raid of Castle Nathria will be released on Dec. 8. Castle Nathria will likely be a hotly contested race, as guilds try to claim the elusive World First.
