They could have been star-shaped

Among Us’ bean-like character designs are popular among fans, but in early iterations, they were almost star-shaped instead.

Puff, one of Among Us’ creators, showed off the concept art for the Among Us crewmates on Twitter, and well, there’s not much there. The bean-design was nailed down fairly quickly, and the concept only had a few sketches.

Something about the star-shaped crewmate in particular haunts me. The arms are outstretched in a T-pose, but we can’t quite tell if its arms are out there for the sake of concept art or if they would permanently be outstretched like this. There is also a much more orb-shaped crewmate and a crewmate without its backpack.

One Twitter user pointed out the common link between Among Us designs and Teletubbies, stating that there are lots of jokes about the crewmates looking like the bottom half of the alien creatures. Puff replied with this:

That’s fair.
