The last chapter of Beastars has published in Japan, and with it comes a confirmation that Paru Itagaki’s anthropomorphic series won’t completely end.
Beast Complex, Itagaki’s first published work, will pick back up in January 2021, though it’s unknown if it will tell the stories of the popular characters of Beastars or not. The manga will get a “mini-series,” according to Anime News Network. Weekly Shonen Champion, the magazine that Beastars published in, noted that more details will come in a future issue.
Beast Complex was originally a seven-chapter series where each chapter focused on a different set of animal’s relationship, with the animals commonly being one carnivore and one herbivore. While some chapters featured extremely minor Beastars characters, most of them focused on other people living within the Beastars universe.
The first six chapters of Beast Complex will be released in a collection on March 16, 2021 by Viz Media.
