Riot Games is making some big changes to competitive shooter Valorant as it enters Act 3. This new act will come with a battle pass full of cosmetics on Oct. 13, as well as a new map and a new Agent later this month.

The new map, Icebox, was pushed forward in production as a result of fan feedback for more locations, said Riot. Icebox is a wintry map with ziplines, two bomb sites, and plenty of places for firefights. It’s more vertical than other maps, which can lead to ambushes from above or chasing an enemy down to lower levels. Icebox launches on Oct. 13, along with the battle pass and new skins.

The new skin line for Act 3 is Singularity. The Sheriff, Spectre, Phantom, Ares, and Melee will all have Singularity skins, which represent a far sci-fi future. These weapon skins will harness the power of the cosmos, which sounds pretty neat.

The new Agent coming with Act 3 is Skye, an eco-warrior hailing from Australia. Skye is a support character who creates powerful creatures via jade trinkets to scout the battlefield and help her allies. In her reveal trailer, we see her healing her squad and creating a hawk and a foxlike creature to get the jump on enemies.

Skye will be released on Oct. 27. This gives Riot a two-week window, or one-patch cycle, to ensure that the servers are stable and that the addition of a new Agent doesn’t break the game.

The full preview is available on Riot’s official site, including info on changes to ranked matchmaking and the battle pass.
