The Hargreeves siblings will be back for a third season of The Umbrella Academy, Netflix revealed on Tuesday. Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Casañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin H. Min — that is, all the Hargreeves siblings — are set to reprise their roles, along with Ritu Arya who plays assassin Lila and Colm Feore who plays formidable father figure Sir Reginald Hargreeves.
Based on the Gerard Way comic of the same name, The Umbrella Academy debuted on Netflix in February 2019. The second season premiered last July. The series follows seven superpowered siblings recoiling from their abusive past and reconnecting after years apart — all while trying to stop the apocalypse from happening. The second season thrust them all back into different points in the 1960s, where they must find one another and stop the apocalypse (again).

The siblings did manage to stop the apocalypse from happening in the 1960s — but when they returned to 2019, it appears they messed up the timeline somewhat, as Reginald Hargreeves is still alive and has no idea who they are. The Umbrella Academy is made up of a set of different recruits and is now called the Sparrow Academy. Showrunner Steve Blackman told Polygon that he approached Way with the concept and was thrilled to find that Way had a similar idea.
The third season of The Umbrella Academy will have 10, one-hour episodes. Production will begin in February. There is no word on release date.
