Bungie temporarily cancels Trials of Osiris in Destiny 2: Beyond Light

The ultimate PvP mode is on a brief hiatus

Destiny 2’s Trials of Osiris game mode will not be available this weekend, as most players had hoped. In fact, the competitive PvP mode won’t have its first weekend in the Destiny 2: Beyond Light era until the weekend of Nov. 27.

On Thursday evening, the Bungie Help Twitter account posted that Trials of Osiris was cancelled until Nov. 27, due to a “recently discovered issue.”

Senior community manager dmg04 confirmed that the bug would have a “negative impact on the competitive experience.” While we are not sure which bug Bungie is referring to here, some players discovered a way to use the new Winter’s Wrath Super indefinitely — which seems like a pretty good reason to cancel Trials to us.

Bungie didn’t update the Trials of Osiris armor this season, but it did add Adept weapons to the mix. These are slightly revamped versions of the normal Trials weapons, but they only come from a Flawless ticket. As a bonus, they offer a special mod slot where players can increase their weapons’ stats.

Players will need to wait to get their hands on these fancy Adept weapons until Nov. 27, a week after the Beyond Light raid’s launch date.
