Microsoft is closing out the hellscape that was 2020 by going straight to the underworld with Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell as part of the Xbox Games With Gold lineup for December, the company announced Tuesday.
Volition’s stand-alone Saints Row 4 expansion, which debuted in January 2015 on Xbox 360 (and a variety of other platforms), will be available free to Xbox Live Gold subscribers from Dec. 1-15. The free Xbox 360 title for the second half of the month will be Stacking, the 2011 puzzle adventure game from Double Fine Productions (which Microsoft acquired in 2019) featuring matryoshka dolls — y’know, those Russian stacking dolls.
The two Xbox One games that are coming to Gold subscribers in December are lesser-known titles. First up is The Raven Remastered, available all month long, a 2018 remaster of a point-and-click detective adventure game that was originally released in 2013. And from Dec. 16 through Jan. 15, 2021, the free game will be Bleed 2, a side-scrolling arcade action title.
All four games, of course, are playable on the Xbox Series X and Series S via backward compatibility. And until they arrive in December, some of the November Games With Gold titles are still available.
