Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7 is coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Nintendo announced the newest character for the Switch fighting game on Thursday at The Game Awards with a new trailer.
He joins Cloud in representing the Final Fantasy franchise in Smash Bros. this December.
Sephiroth for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will follow Steve (and Alex, Enderman, and Zombie) from Minecraft, who was released in October, and Min Min from Arms, who was added to the game in June.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s next fighter will be the third included as part of Fighters Pass Vol. 2. All six characters in that pass — plus new stages and music — will be released for Ultimate by Dec. 31, 2021, Sakurai said during a Nintendo Direct Mini presentation in January. The first Fighters Pass added Joker from Persona 5, Hero from the Dragon Quest series, Banjo and Kazooie, Terry from Fatal Fury/The King of Fighters, and Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses to Ultimate as paid content.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was released on Nintendo Switch in December 2018. It’s one of the best games on Nintendo’s handheld console.
