Capcom’s making a new Ghosts ’n Goblins

Ghosts n Goblins Resurrection is jumping to Switch in 2021

Capcom is bringing back one of its classic franchises, the 2D action game Ghosts n Goblins, in a new title destined for Nintendo Switch. Ghosts ’n Goblins Resurrection was revealed at The Game Awards on Thursday, and it looks ... interesting.

The debut trailer for Ghosts ’n Goblins Resurrection showed series hero Arthur battling familiar enemies from the original Ghosts ’n Goblins and that game’s sequel, Ghouls ’n Ghosts. Artistically, Resurrection appears inspired by medieval artwork, offering distinctly new designs for familiar foes. Gameplay-wise, Capcom’s new Ghosts ’n Goblins appears to stick to the franchise’s 2D side-scrolling tradition.

Ghosts ’n Goblins Resurrection is slated for release on Nintendo Switch on Feb. 25, 2021.

Alongside Resurrection, Capcom also announced Capcom Arcade Stadium, a compilation that will offer access to the original arcade version of Ghouls ’n Ghosts and 31 other coin-op classics, including Section Z, Forgotten Worlds, Bionic Commando, and 1942. Capcom Arcade Stadium is coming to Switch in February 2021 as a free download, with titles available as paid DLC bundles.
