Season 2 stars Anthony Mackie (Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) as Takeshi Kovacs. The action picks up 30 years after the events of season 1, with Kovacs once again on the hunt for his long lost love, Quellcrist Falconer. This time he’s had an upgrade; his new “sleeve” body comes complete with rapid healing and enhanced reaction time. The trailer also shows him using telekinesis to draw a pair of handguns.
Here’s the official synopsis from Netflix:
After decades of planet-hopping and searching the galaxy, Kovacs is recruited back to his home planet of Harlan’s World with the promise of finding Quell. Haunted by his past and responsible for investigating a series of brutal murders, Kovacs is stunned to discover his new mission to solve the crime and his pursuit to find Quell are one and the same. With the help of his loyal A.I. Poe (Chris Conner), Kovacs must now partner with new allies to outwit his enemies and find the truth: Who is Quellcrist Falconer?
The eight-episode season adds more new actors alongside Mackie, including Lela Loren (Power), Simone Missick (All Rise), James Saito (The Terror), and Dina Shihabi (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan). Renee Elise Goldsberry returns in the role of Quell.
