Florence’s sweet, subtle story coming to Nintendo Switch and PC

Perfectly timed the day before Valentine’s Day

Florence, originally published on iOS and Android devices in 2018, will be released for Nintendo Switch and Windows PC and Mac via Steam, GOG, and Mac App Store on Feb. 13. It’ll cost $5.99 when it’s released.

Developed by Australian studio Mountains, Florence is a stunning, sweet story about connection — both romantic and with family. The game uses simple puzzles to guide the player through Florence’s life and routine: conversations with mom, a boring day job, and the rise and fall of a relationship.

Since its release, Florence has won numerous awards, including the Apple Design Award and a BAFTA for best mobile game. Polygon awarded it the third spot in our 2018 game of the year awards; Florence was also on our top 100 games of the decade list. It’s critically-acclaimed for its clever use of simple touch mechanics to evoke the shifting nature of its relationships. Gameplay should transfer naturally to the Nintendo Switch using its touch capabilities, though the exact control layout on non-touch devices is still unknown.
