Beat-’em-ups get the spotlight in the Double Dragon & Kunio-Kun Retro Brawler Bundle

Arc System Works is launching the Double Dragon & Kunio-kun Retro Brawler Bundle on Feb. 20. The package comprises three Double Dragons — the original (1987), Double Dragon 2: The Revenge (1988), and Double Dragon 3: The Sacred Stones (1990). They’re joined by 15 other games from the Kunio-kun franchise, which harkens back to the 1980s on Famicom and other platforms in Japan.
Eleven of the games in the bundle have never before been localized for North America. They include Nekketsu Fighting Legend, Nekketsu High School Dodgeball Club — Soccer Story, and Go-Go! Nekketsu Hockey Club Slip-and-Slide Madness.
More familiar to Western players are games like Renegade, Super Dodge Ball, and River City Ransom, which debuted in arcades between 1986 and 1989.
