If you had the power to cross the multiverse and see spectacular lands and creatures, what would you do?
For spacecaster Clancy, the answer is simple: he’s gonna interview the creatures living in these universes, put the interviews online, and make a bunch of money.
Created by Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward and Duncan Trussell of the Duncan Trussell Family Hour podcast, The Midnight Gospel follows Clancy’s journey across the multiverse. The brief teaser reveals the same zany designs and animation spirit as Adventure Time, but with more adult tones (such as, for instance, more blood, guts, and swearing). The colorful, vibrant teaser reveals a whole gamut of multidimensional beings, including tiny clown creatures, a catlike ruler sitting on a throne, a severed head making out with a woman, and more! What a wild multiverse Clancy lives in.
The Midnight Gospel premieres on Netflix on April 20. It marks another foray into the animation space by Netflix, joining the streaming service’s original adult titles such as Bojack Horseman, Tuca and Bertie, and Bigmouth.
