What The Golf? arrives for Nintendo Switch this May with new local multiplayer mode

The game will also make use of the Switch’s touchscreen and gyroscope

What the Golf?, the wacky golf game that launched on the Apple Arcade platform in 2019, arrives for Nintendo Switch on May 21. Once only available with a subscription on iOS devices, this new and expanded version of the game goes for $19.99. Pre-orders are available now and come at a 25% discount.

Originally funded through the Fig investment platform, What The Golf? is a surreal, physics-based puzzle game that revels in absurdity. Early on it asks players to golf in the traditional manner by putting a little white ball into a cup. Things quickly diverge from there, with the body of the golfer ragdolling down the fairway. Some levels also poke fun at classic video games, such as Super Mario Bros. and Portal.

The developers say that the Nintendo Switch version of the game will include a local multiplayer Party mode. A news release issued on Tuesday also says this new version will make use of the Switch’s touchscreen and gyroscope “for select levels.”
