Earlier this week Activision announced a remastered version of the first two Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games. While skating and sick tricks were highlights of the series, the secret star was always their excellent soundtracks. The remastered game won’t be released until Sept. 4, the team behind it has already revealed part of the soundtrack to let everyone know that the music they’ll be skating to will still rule.
Developer Vicarious Visions mentioned in the initial announcement of the remaster that almost all of the songs from the original soundtracks made it into the new version. Songs like “Police Truck” by Dead Kennedys, “Superman” by Goldfinger, “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver” by Primus, and “Guerrilla Radio” by Rage Against the Machine all made it into this initial track listing.
In case you can’t wait another four months to revisit this music to kickflip to, Vicarious Visions put together a Spotify playlist to hold you over. Unfortunately, the Spotify playlist only includes 18 songs, while the two original soundtracks featured 26 songs combined, so it’s likely that the playlist is missing a few of the songs that will be in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2.

In fact, Activision released a teaser image for the playlist which includes CDs featuring artists Evenrude and Speedealer, neither of which appear on the Spotify playlist. So if your favorite song from the original games — like Anthrax and Public Enemy’s “Bring the Noise” — isn’t on the Spotify playlist don’t panic just yet, it may still make the cut.
Here are all the songs whose artists show up in the art but not the playlist:
- “Vilified” by Evenrude
- “Screamer” by Speedealer
- “Nothing To Me” by Speedealer
And here are the songs missing from the playlist and the art:
- “Bring the Noise” by Anthrax & Public Enemy
- “B-Boy Document ‘99” by The High & Mighty, featuring Mos Def & Mad Skillz
- “Out With the Old” by Alley Life
- “Cyco Vision” by Suicidal Tendencies
- “Committed” by Unsane
To find exactly what’s on the soundtrack we may have to wait until closer to the game’s release Sept. 4 for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.
