Outside of the obviously very different touch controls, there are small tweaks to make games go by faster and simplify the more complicated systems. The number of runes have been reduced and many of them have been updated to accommodate the shorter matches. Item stats have also changed, though the core features of each item you buy in-game remains the same as it does in League of Legends.
Some skills, like Miss Fortune’s Double Up, have been changed to work differently. Double Up usually involves selecting an enemy to fire a bullet at and having it ricochet off, to hit an enemy behind it. In Wild Rift, it’ll be a skill you have to aim with an indicator, rather than just hover and select an enemy.
A good chunk of champions are making it into the game, but not all. The development team did note that more champions would be added along the way, but the game is starting out with a good mix of new and old champions, like Ahri, Alistar, Jhin, Soraka, Yasuo, and Aurelion Sol. There was no Teemo to be seen, thankfully.
Wild Rift will have a two-week alpha testing period on Android devices for players in Brazil and the Philippines starting on June 6. There has been no announcement on more regions getting access yet.
