Naughty Dog dropped a new trailer for The Last of Us Part 2 on Wednesday, offering a new look at the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive. The trailer shows Ellie on her journey of revenge, and offers a grim look at the post-apocalyptic world that she once found peaceful.
Here’s Naughty Dog’s official (spoiler-free) description of the game’s story:
After a vicious and violent event disrupts the relative peace that Ellie has found in Jackson, she sets out to bring justice to those responsible. As she hunts them down one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.
Earlier this week, Naughty Dog VP and The Last of Us writer Neil Druckmann announced that Part 2 had “gone gold” after additional weeks of polish.
The Last of Us Part 2 is coming to PlayStation 4 on June 19, and was previously planned for late May, but Sony Interactive Entertainment delayed the game due to the coronavirus pandemic. Developer Naughty Dog was the target of a recent hack that exploited a security vulnerability in its previous games, leading to a highly publicized and extensive leak of The Last of Us Part 2’s story.
