9 more games will have Xbox Series X’s handiest feature

Microsoft held a gameplay reveal for the titles we can expect for the Xbox Series X during a livestream on Thursday, and as it turns out, many of these games will support Smart Delivery. Good thing, too, because Smart Delivery is one of the console’s handiest features.

In short, Smart Delivery ensures that if you buy one version of a game, you’ll be able to play it both on Xbox One and Xbox Series X. “We’re making the commitment to use Smart Delivery on all our exclusive Xbox Game Studios titles, including Halo Infinite,” Microsoft said, in the initial announcement for the feature.

Today, we can add nine more titles to the list, including:

• Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (Ubisoft)
• Call of the Sea (Raw Fury)
• Chorus (Deep Silver)
• Dirt 5 (Codemasters)
• Scarlet Nexus (Bandai Namco)
• Second Extinction (Systemic Reaction)
• The Ascent (Neon Giant/Curve Digital)
• Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 (Paradox Interactive)
• Yakuza: Like a Dragon (Sega)

It should be noted that Madden NFL 21 publisher Electronic Arts doesn’t technically support Smart Delivery for the game, but will offer a limited-time upgrade. “To get an upgraded Madden NFL 21 on Series X for no additional cost, you must purchase the game before Dec. 31 and redeem your upgrade on Xbox Series X by March 31, 2021,” EA said in an FAQ on the EA Sports website.

Along with these titles, CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 will also make use of Smart Delivery, meaning that if you purchase the game for Xbox One, you’ll be able to enjoy it for Xbox Series X as well. Microsoft has said that while all first-party titles will support the feature, Smart Delivery is available for third-parties who want to make use of it as well.
