Netflix’s latest foray into the fantasy epic genre — chasing the glory of Game of Thrones — is Cursed. Based on the Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler book of the same name, Cursed follows Nimue, the young woman destined to become the Lady of the Lake, the figure in Arthurian legend who bestows the mighty Excalibur to King Arthur. She teams up with Arthur, who at this point in time is just a humble mercenary, in order to find the mysterious Merlin and deliver an ancient sword.
Katherine Langford of 13 Reasons Why (and a deleted scene in Avengers: Endgame) stars as Nimue, with Devvon Terrell (aka Young Obama from 2016 biopic Barry) as Arthur, Gustaf Skarsgård (yes, brother of Alexander and Bill, son of Stellan) as Merlin, and Daniel Sharman (who you might know from Tumblr gifsets of Teen Wolf) as Weeping Monk.
