The next fighter coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is Min Min from Arms, Nintendo’s 2017 fighting game for Nintendo Switch. Smash Bros. game director Masahiro Sakurai announced the new fighter during a livestream on Monday.
Min Min, like the rest of the Arms cast, has springy, extendable limbs. She attacks independently with each stretchy arm, and can equip each of her arms with one of three weapons — Megawatt, Ramram, and Dragon — giving her a variety of attacks that can be swapped on the fly.
A new stage, Spring Stadium, is also coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Eighteen music tracks from Arms are also coming alongside Min Min. She’ll be released June 29, and her DLC bundle costs $5.99.
In the world of Arms, Min Min is an 18-year-old who works at the Mintendo Noodle House. Sakurai said that Min Min was chosen as the next Smash Bros. fighter at the request of Arms producer Kosuke Yabuki. Another Arms character, Spring Man, already appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an Assist Trophy fighter. Additional Arms fighters appear as part of Min Min’s Final Smash move, and Ninjara will be available as a Mii Fighter costume.
Min Min from Arms is the first of six additional characters coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as part of the Fighters Pass Vol. 2. All six characters — plus new stages and music — will be released for Ultimate by Dec. 31, 2021, Sakurai announced during a Nintendo Direct Mini presentation in January. The first Fighters Pass added Joker from Persona 5, Hero from the Dragon Quest series, Banjo and Kazooie, Terry from Fatal Fury/The King of Fighters, and Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses to Ultimate as paid content.
