Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Vault Boy in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Entertainment

Fallout’s Vault Boy is coming to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Gunner-type Mii Fighter. Smash is all about bringing the most iconic characters in gaming together, and then making them fight each other in a death match. We’ve had some unexpected additions so far, like Persona 5’s Joker or even Sans from Undertale, but this new Mii Fighter skin is still a surprise.

Vault Boy is the mascot of the Fallout franchise. He serves as part of the Vault-Tec propaganda efforts, and he is meant to appeal to the American populace in 2077. Players can spot him on a ton of advertising or informational pamphlets around the world in various Fallout games. He is also used as an illustration alongside each SPECIAL perk, so players get an idea of what that upgrade might entail.

This colorful, retro, cartoon-y boy fits right in with the Smash roster, but it’s still a little shocking to see him show up. Currently, the only game from the Fallout franchise on Nintendo Switch is Fallout Shelter, which is a spinoff simulation title where players run their very own Vault.

Players will be able to purchase Vault Boy on June 29, He’s not the only new addition to the game; today, we learned Min Min from Arms will be the next DLC character, along with the stage Spring Stadium.
