The new trailer for Netflix’s Cursed seems to have a lot in common with Witcher, as Katherine Langford, playing Nimue, comes into possession of a powerful sword and finds herself battling all sorts of supernatural oddities.

The upcoming series is based on the book by Tom Wheeler and Frank Miller. It reshapes Arthurian legends to turn the Lady of the Lake into the hero of the story. In this telling, Arthur is a mercenary who joins forces with Nimue as she learns how to control her considerable powers and sets off to save her land from King Uther and the Red Paladins.

The series also stars Gustaf Skarsgård as a more menacing version of Merlin. In the trailer, Nimue is told to bring the sword to Merlin. When Merlin appears, he reveals that he has lost his magical power, and that the sword took his abilities from him.

All 10 episodes of Cursed will debut on Netflix on July 17.
