On Thursday, Electronic Arts launched over 25 games on Steam. For years, many EA games were exclusively available on Windows PC via EA’s own Origin launcher and storefront. This new drop is part of an initiative from EA to allow players to experience their games on multiple storefronts “wherever you want to play.”

As of this writing, players can purchase and play BioWare’s Dragon Age games, the Crysis games, several Need for Speed games, some indie games like Unravel, Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, and more. On June 5, EA will launch the new Command & Conquer Remastered Collection on Origin as well as Steam — which can use the Steam Workshop for mod support. EA will continue to launch new games on both Origin and Steam simultaneously.

Later this summer, Valve will also offer benefits for EA Access subscribers on Steam, such as access to games, free trials, discounts, and more. Players will learn more about how EA plans to implement EA Access through Steam later this year. We’ve reached out to Valve for more information.

It’s notable that many of EA’s biggest games — Battlefield 5, FIFA 20, The Sims 4, and Apex Legends — did not make it into the first wave of Steam releases. It’s unclear when these games will come to Steam, but EA promised “more on the way” in its news release.

Update (June 11): On June 11, EA added a host of new games to Steam. In addition to the titles EA added last week, players can pick up numerous Battlefield games, including Battlefield 5, Battlefield 1, and more.

Mass Effect fans can also pick up Mass Effect 3 and all of its DLC, as well as Mass Effect: Andromeda and its multiplayer DLC. Players can now play all four Mass Effect games on Steam.

Star Wars players can jump into Battlefront 1 or Battlefront 2.

EA will reveal more about its Steam plans on June 18, during its EA Play live event.
