With the novel coronavirus pandemic making large gaming events nearly impossible this year, many announcements have shifted to online events, like Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest. The latest online shift comes from Microsoft, will give fans a chance to get a hands-on look at some upcoming games through a digital event. The Xbox Summer Game Fest demo event will include demos of upcoming games for players to check out, as if it were a virtual version of a regular gaming convention.
The main draw of the event will be a collection of over 60 demos that Xbox One players can play. Unlike regular demos, which usually created after a game is finished, these demos are work-in-progress representations of games, much like fans might see at an E3, PAX, or Gamescom convention.
The demos on offer will include games like Destroy All Humans!, Haven, Cris Tales, Hellpoint, Skatebird, The Vale: Shadow of the Crown, Raji: An Ancient Epic, and Welcome to Elk. Along with all these, there will be dozens of other experiences to try as well. According to Xbox’s announcement post, the occasion will have somewhere between 75 and 100 titles once the event finally comes to a close.
The Xbox Summer Game Fest’s demo event will be available to Xbox One players from July 21 to July 27. The demos will be available on the Xbox Dashboard, but once the event ends the demos will disappear.
