Bill & Ted 3 will bring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter directly to VOD

Bill & Ted Face the Music will rock on Sept. 1

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues and the tentative reopening date of movie theaters gets pushed back further and further, the distributors of movies that were set to come out in 2020 are being forced to reassess. Many films — the new James Bond movie, Christopher Nolan’s Tenet — have been delayed or pulled from the release calendar indefinitely, but the studios behind others are biting the bullet and releasing them directly on VOD and into what few theaters are open.

The latest film to arrive simultaneously on VOD and in theaters is the third Bill and Ted movie, Bill & Ted Face the Music, which sees Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter reprising their famous roles.

As Bill and Ted struggle to come to terms with the seeming monotony of middle age, they’re suddenly called upon once again to save the world. This time, however, they’re joined on their journey through time by their daughters, both apples who haven’t fallen far from the tree.

Bill & Ted Face the Music will debut on VOD and in theaters on Sept. 1.
