Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase stream focused on the games coming to the upcoming Xbox Series X much more than the hardware itself, while also reinforcing Microsoft’s basic strategy for this generation.
Every game shown at this event will be offered through Xbox Game Pass, and the Xbox Series X compatible games you buy through your Xbox One will automatically work on the newer hardware, with greater performance, without having to buy another copy of the game through the Smart Delivery system.
Microsoft wants to make the act of buying a new console as simple as possible, and the company is setting things up so that many of us will have an Xbox Series X library even before we buy the system itself.
But that strategy is moot if no one wants to play the games being offered in the first place, so let’s take a look at every trailer shown during Thursday’s event.
