While Yone may be brand new, he’s not completely unfamiliar. Yone is Yasuo’s brother, and was first introduced to League of Legends lore almost seven years ago when Yasuo was first released. Since then he’s remained an unsolved mystery for the League community ... until now.
Yone isn’t only connected to Yasuo through his lore, though. The two wandering swordsman’s kits are also remarkably similar. Yone’s Q is a forward thrust with his sword, similar to Yasuo, and it gains stacks that eventually lead to a knock-up. He’s also got a temporary shield from his W, much like Yasuo’s passive.
But there’s more to Yone than just his similarities to the brother that tried to kill him. He’s also got a passive that causes every second attack to do more damage, and an E that takes him into a Spirit Form for a brief time. Finally, Yone’s Ultimate ability causes him to hit all enemies in a straight line, then teleport to the back of the line and knock everyone into the air.
Yone should be released as part of League of Legends’ patch 10.16 cycle, which means that he’ll probably be headed to the Public Beta Environment sometime next week.
Passive - Way of the Hunter
Yone uses two blades, causing every second attack to deal more magic damage. His critical strike chance is also doubled, but his critical strikes deal reduced damage.
Q - Mortal Steel
Yone thrusts forward, dealing physical damage to opponents. On hit, he gains a stack of Gathering Storm. At two stacks, Yone can dash forward with a wave that makes enemies airborne.
W - Spirit Cleave
Yone cleaves forward in a massive arc, dealing a portion of the target’s maximum health. After successfully hitting an enemy, Yone also gains a temporary shield. The shield’s power increases per champion struck.
E - Soul Unbound
Yone can enter his Spirit Form, gaining movement speed and leaving his body behind. When Yone’s Spirit Form expires, he’ll snap back into his body and deal a percentage of all the damage he dealt while in Spirit Form.
R - Fate Sealed
Yone strikes all enemies in his path, blinking behind the last enemy hit and knocking everyone airborne towards him.
