Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed until the fall, but there’s a new cyberpunk title that may scratch the itch for those interested in gritty urban environments, making moral choices, and navigating a corporate hellscape. Taking place in a futuristic version of Cincinnati, cyberpunkdreams is a text-based RPG that follows in the footsteps of sprawling sagas like Fallen London.

This world started with a series of short stories that were funded via Kickstarter. It has now been expanded and adapted into a game, where players progress the plot through interactive fiction.

Player choice will be a big part of cyberpunkdreams; the player in this scenario starts out without a memory, and will have to figure out their role in this dystopia and how they intend to navigate it. The game will be updated monthly with ongoing events and story progression, and as players advance, they will be able to level up their character and augment themselves to become more powerful and adaptable.

Players can opt into the free beta, which will launch this August. cyberpunkdreams will be available on Steam, and it will be free-to-play, with optional microtransactions post-launch.
