The Jujutsu Kaisen anime is heading to Crunchyroll this October

The new horror series is all about sorcerers and cursed fingers

Jujutsu Kaisen is getting an anime adaptation and it will be streaming exclusively on Crunchyroll for viewers in the United States.

The series follows a teenager named Yuji Itadori who gets caught in the middle of a battle between sorcerers, spirits, and powerful ancient curses. When Itadori comes into contact with one particularly nasty curse — in the form of a haunted finger — he winds up eating it and gaining phenomenal and terrible power. Together with his friends, and a few helpful sorcerers, he joins a new magical high school and uses his powers to hunt down the other curses that haunt the world.

As the description probably implies, Jujutsu Kaisen is a horror-action shonen series. It was first published as a manga in Shōnen Jump, where it quickly gained popularity. The anime adaptation will be handled by MAPPA, the studio behind Dororo (2019), Banana Fish, and Yuri!!! on Ice, and The God of High School.

The anime will premiere on Crunchyroll in fall 2020.
