Untitled Goose Game is getting a second goose and local co-op

Honk for a Steam release, too

Untitled Goose Game is getting a free update on Sept. 23: A second terrible goose will be added to the game. Yes, this means that Untitled Goose Game will have a local two-player cooperative mode. Now, you and a pal can terrorize a village farmer and his neighbors.

The new goose is the same species as the original, but it’s got its own unique honk — thank goodness — and a more prominent knob. On its beak. If you must know, it’s called a basal knob and yes, I googled “bump on goose beak” to find this out.

Alongside this free update, developer House House is also bringing Untitled Goose Game to new platforms: Steam and itch.io. If a physical copy is more your thing, preorders for a physical version of Untitled Goose Game for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch are open. These are set to be released on Sept. 29 from iam8bit.

Untitled Goose Game was released for Windows PC and Mac via the Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch in September 2019. Later, it was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One — the latter of which added it to Xbox Games Pass. It was a mega-hit, racking up award nominations and wins across the industry, including Game of the Year at the 2020 DICE Awards, where it beat out Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding. Made by a four-person studio, Untitled Goose Game topped charts for a while and became meme history.
