Shazam 2 has a title and maybe Sinbad will be in it

Just to make everyone more confused

After a DC FanDome panel where cast and crew of Shazam! insisted that they couldn’t share a single detail about the sequel to their 2019 film — the cast and crew of Shazam! revealed not just a new title but also a brand new member of the cast. Maybe.

The sequel to Shazam! will be Shazam: Fury of the Gods, and Sinbad might be in it?

Right now you might be wondering “Wasn’t David ‘Sinbad’ Adkins already in a movie called Shazam?” No. The idea that Sinbad played a genie in a movie called Shazam sometime in the 1990s is a prime example of the Mandela Effect. There was a movie about a genie played by a famous, contemporary Black actor/luminary — but it was called Kazaam, and it starred Shaquille O’Neil.

The Sinbad/Shazam connection is such a widespread misconception that it even reached the actor himself, as he explained in a surprise appearance on the Shazam! panel of DC FanDome. In the same breath, he announced that he had a role in the new Shazam movie, muddying the waters of the Shazam/Kazaam/Sinbad/Shaq argument forever.

It wasn’t the only Shazam news to be revealed at DC FanDome. Earlier in the day, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shared details on his solo film for Shazam’s nemesis, Black Adam, who will face off against not one, but four, superheroes in Black Adam.

The next level of puzzles.
