Warframe’s new player experience is finally live

Players can now get off to a better start

Warframe is a very dense game, and getting through the first part of the story is one of the biggest struggles. In the new Heart of Deimos expansion, new players now get a smoother experience. This new player experience was originally announced at TennoCon 2019, the annual convention for all Warframe news, but has only just gone live.

Now, when players log into Warframe for the first time, they’ll be greeted with the above cinematic, directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane, Black Mirror). Then, they’ll get a tutorial on the basic elements of the game, like jumping around and equipping a set of weapons. This covers the same bases as the previous new player experience, but is dressed up in a fancier environment, and is streamlined with nice new UI elements. Once players complete the tutorial, the game will introduce them to early game quests and the star map.

The new tutorial is open for everyone, including players who have already progressed into the endgame. Players interested in seeing the new intro can check the Codex on their Orbiter to start the quest.

Warframe is available for free on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One. Digital Extremes plans to bring Warframe to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X when the next-generation consoles launch later this year.
